Your games run on your device
Regular play uses a bundled local KataGo engine; board positions are not sent to an AI server. There is no Kanso account. The app has no advertising, advertising identifiers, analytics SDKs or developer-operated tracking or crash telemetry. Apple’s system diagnostics depend on your Apple settings.
Local app storage
Your device stores language, appearance, Focus and reduced-motion settings, a saved ongoing game, highscores, a local engine performance profile, the review-prompt counter and AI model files. A small Premium cache records entitlement and product ID, not payment details. The ongoing game is not synced by the highscore iCloud feature.
Highscores: local in Free, private iCloud in Premium
You confirm saving a highscore entry and its display name. Free saves locally only. With Premium active and iCloud available, the app automatically syncs with the private CloudKit database in your personal Apple iCloud account, including on startup, resume, opening highscores and after a new entry. There is no separate in-app sync switch. Scores are not public and are not visible to other Kanso Go players.
Data in a highscore
Entries can contain your chosen display name (up to 16 characters; blank becomes ANONYM), time, entry and game identifiers, board size, configured strength, final points, score margin, win status, eligibility and exclusion reasons. Technical AI information such as engine, model and search effort is also included. At most ten entries are merged per board size and strength. The app adds no device identifier, Apple ID, email, contacts or location to these records. Apple processes the iCloud connection under its own privacy terms.
Control, retention and deletion
You can disable iCloud for the app or sign out of iCloud and continue playing locally. There is currently no in-app button to delete individual or all highscores. Delete the app to remove local app data. Manage or delete the private cloud copy through Apple’s iCloud app-data management; deleting the app alone does not automatically remove that copy. Remaining copies may merge again when sync resumes. Data remains until deleted, replaced or displaced by the top-ten limit. iCloud is not an unconditional backup or recovery guarantee. We can guide you but cannot promise developer access to, or deletion of, your private CloudKit records.
Apple purchases and ratings
StoreKit connects to Apple for product information, Premium purchases, restoration and verified entitlement. The app does not receive payment details. Rating requests use Apple’s system prompt, without our own collection of rating data. Apple’s privacy information applies to these services.
